Red mud and water are used to make red mud slurry for wet desulfurization. P. Wei used an absorption tower to use a red mud slurry for desulfurization. The optimal operating conditions were as follows: L/S was 7:1 (g/g), empty tower gas velocity was 0.35 m/s, L/g was 12:1 (L/m 3), and inlet SO 2 concentration was 1700 mg/m 3.
